This Friday we received some very serious news from the vet about Kiki’s biopsy. The tumours were a very rare and aggressive bone cancer that doesn’t occur in birds very often. Knowing how aggressive the cancer is, I’m very happy I opted for amputation. I’ve been heartbroken, but my little girl hasn’t given up yet. Her amputation is healing very well and she’s been upbeat and seems healthy this week for the first time since surgery. We’ve made her a little felt collar to prevent her from chewing her bandage. She had an x-ray done on Saturday and there are no signs that the cancer has spread anywhere else. Vet says it seems positive considering how fast and aggressive the cancer was over 2 days. Kiki will be going for more scans and checkups for the following month to make sure she’s okay, so please keep her in your prayers! So proud of my baby girl
